インドで映画; Watching movies in India

インドの夏は暑い！雨がうざい！
そんなときは映画館に逃げ込みましょう＾＾
ご存じのように、ボリウッド（インドのハリウッド）は世界最多の
映画製作で知られております。

私も６週間の滞在中、映画を３本見ました。

あとはアバター３Dとインセンプション！！

どれもおもしろかったです。

デリーでメジャーシネコンのうちの一つ、PVRシネマ。
どこもここ数年でできた映画館だからとても綺麗！
はっきりいって座席は日本の映画館よりゆったりしていて、快適だし、音響もいいです。
値段は５０ルピーから３００ルピーくらい。（１００円から６００円くらい）
なんでこんなに値段に差があるのかというと、映画館の立地によってどうやら
違うみたいなのです。私が行った映画館はすべてどでかいショッピングモールの
中に入っていたので、余計に税金がかかるらしく、３００ルピー。

日本のプレミアムシートのようにゴールドシートというのがあって、
６００ルピー（１２００円）ほど払えば、専用ラウンジでウェルカムドリンク、
ファーストクラスのようなリクライニングシートに水とブランケット付で映画が見れます。

ただ、ゴールドシートでなくても映画を見ていると従業員の人が、
「お飲み物やお食事はいりませんか？」と回ってきてくれて、
映画を見ながら注文し、飲食ができます。インドならでわ＾＾

シネコンの難点が、
・セキュリティチェックが厳しい。
入館前に、ボディーチェックがあって、カメラ、パソコンは持ちこめないうえに
クロークやコインロッカーもありません。これはほんとに不便。
一度それを知らなくて、泣く泣く帰ったことがありました。

・冷房がききすぎている
インド中どこもそうなんだけど、本当に尋常じゃないぐらい冷房がかかっていて、
終わった後はガタガタ体が震えています。

・ハーフタイムがある。
なぜか映画の途中に休憩が入り、しかもわけわからないところで突然切れて、
休憩が何分かも言ってくれないし、アバターを見たときは
１回しかないラブシーンを見逃しました。

インドの喧騒から逃げたいときは映画館がおすすめ＾＾

It's hot in summer in India!! The rainy season is suck!!
When you feel like this, let's go to the movie theater!
As you know, Bollywood is known as the world's largest number of film making.

During staying for 6 weeks in India, I saw three movies.

Avatar with 3D and Inception！！
All are interesting:)

The one of the most popular cinema complexes is PVR CINEMA.
Most of its cinemas were established in these years so they are clean and new.
To be honest, the seats are more comfortable than Japanese ones and the audio is better.
The ticket price is about from 50INR to 300INR. (1$～6$)
The price seems to depend on the location.
The all theaters where I went is in a big shopping mall so they impose more tax on it.
I payed around 300INR.

They have "GOLD CLASS", which is like Premium Seat in Japan, if you pay
600INR (12$). The price includes a welcome drink in the lounge for GOLD CLASS,
reclining seat like first class on the airplane, a bottle of water and a blanket.

However, you can get good service in normal class.
Watching a movie, the staff comes to ask
"Would you like to have something to drink or eat?"
You can order something and eat them.

The drawbacks are...

・Too much security check
At the entrance, you have to be done security check.
You can't enter with camera and PC.
Indeed, they don't have a cloakroom and a locker.
I didn't know that so I had to go back in tears with my laptop.

・Too much air conditioning
It can be said wherever in India.
It is crazily cold and freezing...
You should bring a warm close.

・There is a small interval.
Somehow, there is a interval in the half of the movie and
it was suddenly stopped.
They don't mention how long the break time is.
Therefore I missed the only love scene in Avatar.

I recommend going to see movie when you want to escape from hustle and bustle of India＾＾

仕事について; About my job

無事に帰国しました！！
調べてみたら結局ブログを１５件しか書いていないことに気づき、
まだ書きたいこともいっぱいあるし、時間があるときにちびちび書いていこうかなと思います。

私がインドでやった仕事について。

今回の最大の目的は、もちろんNGOでのインターンです。
IYCNという環境系NGO　http://www.iycn.in/　（HPが新しくなりました＾＾）

最初の仕事は、あるワークショップでのフィードバックシートを
集計してエクセル、ワードに入力し、ボスに報告すること。

次は、フォトジャーナリズムと題し、ヨーロッパからスタディーツアーにくる
学生向けのワークショップで、インドの気候変動や環境変化について紹介するパワポを
主に写真を使って作成する。

で、この２つと並行して、東京の屋上緑化についてリサーチして
スタッフ向けにプレゼンする。これは私の卒論のテーマでもあるし、世界からも
徐々に注目を集めていることなので、一人でも多くのインド人にも知ってほしかったから。

たいして重い仕事ではない。インターン生の出入りが激しいから、チームプロジェクトというのもない:(
同じ期間に働いてたのが、ポーランド人、中国人２人、ドイツ人、ウクライナ人＾＾
勤務時間はだいたい１０時から１５時とか１６時とか１７時とか。超アバウト。
土曜日もオフィスは空いてるんだけど、みんな勝手に土日オフにしてました。
NGOなので私たち無休で働いていたのですが、やはり働き方に欧米人とアジア人の差が・・・

欧米人はパーティーとかあれば次の日こないし、家でもできる仕事だからと１時くらいに帰ってしまう。
旅行で１週間抜けることもあるけど、仕事は速いかもしれない。

一方私たちアジア人は、誰よりも早く事務所に行き、なんとなく時間を過ごして、
旅行もなるべく週末にする。平日１日これないときがあれば、土曜出勤。

かくいう私は、真ん中くらいで旅行で２，３日休んだ時もあったけど＾＾；
やっぱ欧米の人は、自分の時間を大切にするし、契約がないと自分勝手にやっちゃう。
なにより無給だったのが彼らを自由にさせた第一の原因かも知れない・・・

まあNGOスタッフもかなり寛容で、きっと私たちに不満は多々あると思うけど、
せっかくインドに来たんだからいろいろ旅したほうがいいと言ってくれる。
いろんな国の人と仕事をできたのと、インドの環境問題について深く知ることができたのは
収穫だったかな。他のAIESECの企業インターン生のように大きな収穫はなかったけど、
期間も短かったし、仕方ない。
いい経験であったことに変わりはないので＾＾

A job what I did in India...

My purpose of going to India was doing an internship at NGO, in Delhi.
The NGO is called "IYCN" related with environmental issues. http://www.iycn.in/

The first job was adding up opinions from feedback sheet at workshop,
inputting them to Excel and Word and reporting to my boss.

The next step was making a presentation for a workshop for Europe students who are
coming to India as joining a study tour. A presentation is about climate change in India
and I made it mostly with pictures.

At the same time, I researched about rooftop garden in Tokyo and also
made a presentation for my boss.
This topic is same as my final essay and it takes attention from all over the world these days.
So I want to introduce this idea to Indian.

All of work were not hard. Many other interns come and go so
it's difficult to do a work with a group:(
My colleges come from Poland, China, German and Ukraine.
Working hours is from about 10am to about 15pm, 16pm, 17pm...... Flexible.
In Saturday the office is opened but we decide to take off on the weekend.
We work for free because it's an NGO.
Needless to say, there was a little bit difference in working way between us, Asian and Westerners...

Westerners...
・They don't come the day after a party.
・They go back to home early because they can do the work at home if there is internet connection.
・Sometime they go to travel and don't come to the office for one week...
・But they are may do more efficient work than us.

We asian...
・We are the first person to arrive at the office.
・But we just sit and kill time.
・We travel on weekend.
・If we can't come to the office on the weekday, we come to work on Saturday.

Well as for me,,, I was in the middle. I didn't go to the office for 2 or 3 days to travel.
Westerners really respect their time. For them, a contract is very important so
if there isn't they make a rule by themselves and do freely.
The reason might have been no payment, I think...

Our boss are very tolerance and say we should travel India because
we spent a lot of money to come to India.
I'm sure that they have complains about us.
What I gained from work were getting know a lot of people from all over the world and working together and knowing about climate change India.
Though my intern were unlike other AIESEC interns to come to India to do internship at company for more than 3 months , my duration was too short so what I get of it was enough:)
Anyway it was a nice experience.

インド最後の日; The last day in India

今まで文句ばっかり書いていましたが、今日くらいは良いことを書こうかと
パソコンを開いております。

７月２７日にデリーについて、１週間は友達の家で快適に過ごしていたけど、
それから、インターンを斡旋してくれてるＡＩＥＳＥＣと
いろいろトラブルがあって、数日間は人生で一番みじめな数日を過ごし、
毎日泣いていました・・・
タイミングよく彼氏が来てくれて、かなり救われたのと、
一番お世話になったのが友達とその家族。

ほんとびっくりするくらい親切にしてくれて、たくさんのお金と時間を
私のために使ってくれた。決して時間がある人たちではないのに。
特に、私と年の近い女の子がすごく親切にしてくれたの。
彼女は私のインドのお姉さん＾＾
めっちゃタイミングよく、就活中だった彼女は金曜日に内定もらって、
今日から仕事が始まったみたい。しかも日本の会社！
何かの縁としか思えない！
この家族だけじゃなくて、友達の友達もたくさん助けてくれたし、親切にしてくれた。
むかつくやつもいるけど、インド人はびっくりするくらい親切な人が多い。
ほんと、なんてお礼言っていいかわからなくて、うまく感謝の言葉が言えなくて、
それもまた辛いのだ。

ごめんなさい。インドははっきり言って好きじゃない。でもインド人は好きかも知れない。
そして特に、ここで会った人すべては一生の宝物。

みんなにありがとう。ばいちゃ！

Well, I kept writing complain about India but I'm gonna saying good thing today.
Today is the last day in India, finally...

I arrived in Delhi on 27 July and stayed at my friend's super nice house for a week.
However, between I and AIESEC have some problem and
I spent worst days in my life here and cried every day.
My boyfriend arrived when I had hard time and helped me.
Indeed, the persons who care and are worried about me the most are my friend and her family.

They are amazingly kind and spent a lot of money and time for me
though they are busy.
Especially, my friend, who is 2 years older than me, helped me a lot.
She is my Indian sister:)
She had been in job hunting, got a job and started working today.
That's super good timing!! Indeed, her company is Japanese. Can't believe it.

Not only my friend's family, her friends also helped me a lot and are all welcomed.
Some Indian is suck though most of all Indian are kind.
I can't tell how grateful I am.

I'm sorry...but to be honest, I don't like India. But I love Indian people.
The all people including Indian and other friends from all over the world whom I met here are my precious forever!

クトゥブ・ミナール; Qutub Minar

オートの乗り方; How to ride auto

人々の足、オートリキシャ。　タイのトゥクトゥクみたいなもの。
街中いたるところに走ってて、多くの人が利用しています。
値段も安いし、出発地から到着地までダイレクトに行けるので便利です＾＾

さて、オートの乗り方。

１．タクシーと同じ要領でオートを止める。
　　（マーケットや駅前、観光スポットだと出口で数十台お客を待っているオートがある）

２．行き先を告げる。

３．値段交渉

４．乗車、到着。

ふーむ。簡単そうだが、この３のところが一番の難点。
８０％のドライバーは通常よりも高い値段を言ってきます。
ここはあなたの腕次第。

ときどきメーターで走ってくれるオートもあるけど、悪い人だと
わざと遠回りする場合もあるのであまり信用できませぬ。



タイに行った時もそうだったけど、値段交渉ってホントめんどくさくて嫌いです。

デリーに１カ月以上いて、だんだんコツがわかってきました。
以下のドライバーは値段交渉しやすいor初めから正規料金で走ってくれる。

・若いにいちゃんじゃなくてどちらかというとおじいちゃんのドライバー

・向こうから、「オート乗りたいの？どこにいきたい？」って近寄ってこないドライバー

・英語が話せないドライバー


ドライバーは100%男の人。
仕事がつまらないのかなんなのか知らないけど、あまり感情表現をしない。
だから、値段交渉でちょっともめたとき、怒ってるのかと思いきや、
降りるとき「ありがとう」と言ったら、笑顔で「どういたしまして」と言ってくれたりする。

はたや、交渉もスムーズにいったかと思ったら、道がわからなくなって
（っていうか自分の過失なのに）いらいらし始め、しまいにはもっと金をくれなんて
言ってくる奴もいる。


そんなオートのおっちゃん達だが、いろいろ苦労しているのだ。


まず、彼らのほとんどは家がない。
この車が彼らの家であり、仕事場。
多くの人は田舎から出稼ぎに来てるとか。それで家族に仕送りしてるんだって。
それで適当な年齢になったら田舎に帰るみたい。
だからオートドライバーで５０歳以上の人はあまり見かけない。
それはそれで孤独な人生だな。そりゃ笑わないのも当然か。

The most important transport for people in India, Auto Rickshaw.
It's like Tuktuk in Thailand.
You can see a lot in city. It's cheap and useful because you can go to destination directly.

Well, how to ride an auto.

1. Get an auto as you get a cab.
(You can see many autos in front of Markets, stations and tourist places...)

2. Tell to the driver your destination.

3.Bargain with the driver

4. Ride and Arrive

mmm, It seems to be easy but as you know, "Bargain with the driver" is
the best difficult point.
80% of driver will say higher price than real price.
Whether how much you can bargain is up to you!

Some driver will use meter rate though they go longer way
to get more money. So I can't trust them.


I do hate bargain with the driver.

I've been here more than one month and got the knack of it.
Below driver is easier to negotiate or they ran with regular fee.

・Take older driver rather than young driver

・The driver who doesn't come to ask "Do you want Auto??" "Where go?"

・The driver who can't speak English

100% of driver is man.
They don't express their emotion so it's hard to read their feelings.
When I had a small struggle with him on bargaining, he looked like angry.
However I said "Thank you " with smile when I got off, he said "you're welcome" with smile.

On the other hand, I bargained well with the driver and we both were happy though
he got lost (it's his fault.) and was irritated. At the end, he asked me to pay more money.

They earn money the hard way.



First, almost of all don't have houses.
This auto car is their house and the place they work.
They come from country side and send money to their family.
Then they go back to home when they are old.
So we don't see drivers over 50 years old.
What a lonely life... it's natural that they don't smile a lot...

フマユーン廟; Humayun's Tomb

バラナーシ; Trip to Varanasi

先週末はバラナーシまでことりっぷ！
初寝台列車。２等。
超清潔なシーツがあって、トイレはまあ臭いし汚いけど
思ったよりも快適で良く寝れました＾＾


なぜか日本人にとってはインドと言えばバラナーシ！
というのも、バラナーシは死者の街と呼ばれていて、ヒンドゥー教最大の聖地なのだ。
バラナーシの近くで死ねば、輪廻から解脱できると考えられていて、
死をここで迎えるためにわざわざ遠くからやってくる人もいる。

駅でも半死状態の人を何人か見かけたし、バラナーシのガート近くを歩けば
布に包まれて死んでる人がいる。

死んだ人は布に包まれた後、一度ガンガー（ガンジス河）の水に浸されてから火葬される。
火葬場も直接見にいった。１体が完全に燃えるまで３時間かかるらしい。
２４時間火がたえず、ある一族が火葬場を切り盛りしているんだとか。
今まで見たことある死体はおばあちゃんとおじいちゃんだけだけど、
燃えてる人を見ても何も思わなかった。ただそこで死んだ人が燃えていただけ。
何も感じなかった。あまりにも日常とかけ離れていたから。

聖地と言われている場所だけど、そこはあまりにも生活感が溢れていた。

全部同じ川の水・・・
普通にこの水飲んでるからね。びっくり。
街を歩いていて片目が見えない人をよく見かけたけど、私は
この川で水を浴びたせいじゃないかとみている・・・

バラナーシの街はとても小さな町で、道も狭い。
ヨーロッパの旧市街のような雰囲気をもっているんだけど、
残念ながら、ごみと牛のふんだらけ！！




街は汚いけど、泊ったゲストハウスのルーフトップレストランからはこのような絶景！！
一日のほとんどをここで本読んだり、他の旅行者と話したりして過ごしてました。

このゲストハウスの人もそうだけど、本当に良い人が多い！！
子供はもっと無邪気でいつも笑っているし、デリーのように旅行者を騙して
お金を取ってやろうなんて人はあんまりいない。
とっても疲れたけど、トラディショナルなインドを見れました＾＾

Last week, I did a short trip to Varanasi.
I took my first sleeping train, second class with A/C.
They serve very clean sheets though toilets are dirty and smells awful.
Well I slept better than I've excepted.


I don't now why but Japanese who come to India don't miss Varanasi.
Varanasi is called the town for the dead and the biggest holly place of Hindis.
It is said that you can be delivered from transmigration if you dead near by Varanasi.
So some people come to Varanasi to approach death.

I saw some nearly dead person in the station and you can see the dead wrapped in a cloth
when you walk along with Ghat.

After the dead are wrapped in a cloth, they are steeped in the Ganges River and are cremated.
I went to see the cremation place. It takes three hours to burn one remain.
The fire keep burning for 24 hours. One clan ran this crematory.
Surprisingly, I didn't feel anything when I saw a burning human. It was just burning.
It was far from our real life...

Varanasi is called as a holly place but ....

Some people drink this dirty water... Incredible...
I saw a lot of blindness people there. I guess they get a illness
when they had came into the Ganges River.

Varanasi is very small town and the road is narrow.
It has atmosphere similar as Europe though it's a pity that
the town is full of garbage and cow's faces...





The city is dirty but the guest house where I stayed has a rooftop restaurant with
awesome view!!! I spend a lot of time here reading a book or chatting with people.

In Varanasi, the people are so nice including staff in this guest house.
The children are innocent and always smile.
People don't try to cheat tourist like in Delhi.
Though I was so exhausted, I'm happy to see the traditional India.
